The 2 ryegrass seed heads on the right are mature. Once the seeds start changing colour from green to light brown they are mature even if the stalk (Rhachis) is still green. The seeds are not mature in the 2 seed heads on the left. If anthers are visible, seed maturation is a month away depending on the temperature.
